Massive Hailstones and Widespread Damage

Residents reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

State Emergency Services handled over five hundred calls for help across the region, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Weather Forecast

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coast.

Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both areas.

Safety Concern

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
