The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
