Aryna Sabalenka celebrating a point
Aryna Sabalenka finished the season with an impressive twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.

The 27-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Consistency

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a record £11m in earnings.

She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
